For a couple of days I was considering going Intelligence Analyst(96B), but after talking to Peter North in PMs and watching the MOS video at the recruiter's office, I decided I would likely hate it. I went back to Small Arms/Artillery Repair(45K). However, my parents had a looooooong talk with me about how after 6 months I will bored to tears of fixing the same guns over and over again. I don't think I will, as I really like to examine stuff like that, find the problem, and fix it. I have never had such a thing as my job, though.

What I am trying to ask here is if you think I am likely to get bored fixing the same stuff over and over again. Also, feel free to suggest any other repair/support type jobs. I decided I don't want to go into a combat MOS since I am making the Army my career. Thanks for reading.

Allow me to explain...I plan to be in until I retire. Retirement will come alot sooner if my job is combat. If I am in a support role, I will be able to maintain my duties at a later age. Plus 20 years of front lines could be pushing my luck.

But that aside, let's stay on topic, no matter how stupid the sentance was. Either way I don't want to be a direct combat MOS.

im not in the army/marines but i would say that your MOS will probably bore you after a while but you will have plenty of other shit to do on top of it so...no big deal really

You will hate small arms repair then. Any weapon can be repaired in 5 minutes or less.

you dont want to make the army a career. Out of every 10 people I meet that say that when they first enlist, about 9 of them change their mind in their first few years, me included. Hell, I may end up career for lack of finding something better to do, but not if I can help it. I can almost guarantee at some point you'll get fed up and gtfo of the army. It just happens that way, sorry to burst your Accord bubble

On our MST, we had a small arms repair MOS. He did hardly any actual MOS work while deployed.

in small arms repair you will work with a bunch of retards. go signal or infantry. you can always go infantry then in a few year when your body starts to age you can go do something else. but if you want to get promoted fast go infantry or signal.

infantry is not something they just stick all the retards in, alot of infantry guys are there by choice not because of their GT score. if you want something fun with fast promotions go infantry. if you wanna be a puss who fixes the warfighters weapons then do small arms repair.
