Should I be worried?
I can't remember the last time I actually shut down my MBP.
I just put it to sleep.
Sleep > *
mine actually hasn't slept either. lol.
gf's macbook is at 35d.
mine is at.....4, stupid vmware install...
my ibook has been on for about 2 years now...
i crashed finder a few days ago. it really doesn't like when you access a shared folder over wifi and then switch over to a wired connection, even if it's on the same network and you get the same ip. obviously i wasn't doing anything to the share when i switched over, but once i had my ethernet plugged in and grabbed an ip, i click on the share and i got the color wheel for 10 mins
tried relaunching finder but it was screwed
reboot fixed the problem. maybe they will address this in leopard, because networking shares is pretty buggy sometimes
Mine has been on for like 4 weeks. I dont even put it to sleep, i just leave it open and let the screen turn off. Haven't had any problems with it.
Left my powerbook on for over 6 months once...
My MBP I restart much more often, just because I feel like it.
i want to buy a mbp but i hear a new one will come out in a few months...should i wait?
you'll be waiting forever cuz a new one will come out in a few months after that.
consider how much actual performance you will get from several generations beyond what you buy. it's nothing worth waiting for.
Leopard is worth waiting for, however.
about a month or so
leopard will probably cost the same as all the previous versions, so who gives a shit...your buying a mac, im sure you can afford $149 when it comes out.
I've had my macbook for a few months already, I just realized I have not shut it down since I got it. A few reboots after installing SW/updates, but that's it.
I reboot mine to get into ubuntu, but when I'm in OS X it's runnin for days on end in sleep or otherwise
You don't get rich by blowing $150 instead of exercising a little self-control and waiting a month.
