Mine gets tired and worked but not destroyed. My ass is what gets blown to bits...

Are you leaving over too far? I think I watched your form and it looked good to me but I'm still a rookie.

Squats are going to work your back a bit, I don't think there's any getting aroudn that.

i'm thinking of doing deads first on dead day. :noes:

but then my back would be weak for squats and i'll probably end up pinning myself to the pavement.

my focus is legs so i always squat first but i think it would be easier to dead with a slightly tired back than it would be to squat

i've also perfected a new technique of throwing the squat bar off my back :o

just kinda lean back and push with your arms. no harm done :mamoru:

    they're getting better.

though i do feel it even on light sets, like 135. it doesnt get much worse by the end, i just assumed i shouldnt feel it much at all in lower back if i was doing everything right.

I get some back pumps after heavy squats usually. It's nothing abnormal. Try taking some tuarine if it's really bothering you.

do your heels lift off the ground at the bottom?

get somebody to watch the bar. if it moves forward at the bottom of your lift it means your lower back is working to correct the tipping motion of the bar.

    arch your lower back more?

I'm worried about my new routine... I'm doing full squats on day 1 and deadlift's on day 2... I never really feel a muscular strain in my lower back from full squats, but I know there is some serious stabilization going on back there, so I'm not sure how good of an idea it is to be doing the two lifts on consecutive days.

week 2 and today's DL day.... I guess I'll find out if it's actually fatiguing or not :dunno: unless somebody wants to give me a heads up right now as i eat my pre-gym PB&J sammich

lots of routines have deads on the same day as squats, not just consecutive. you should be alright.

nah I mean day 1 has squats and day 2 has deadlifts... bad? :noes: only 24 hours rest for low back, glutes, and hamstrings... I just don't know if full squats are enough to really create a need for full recovery for those muscles since they're stabilizers for squats rather than the main muscle. :dunno: sorry if i sound retarded

^ same here sometimes... I actually get a slight curve in my lumbar when doing full squats... still gotta work on mobility everywhere else so that I can straighten it out at the bottom of the rep.

Any word on DLing the day after squats? :x:

yea you should be fine. seeing how some routines call for squats and deadlifts in the same day, i dont see why you cant do them a day apart too.

:werd: my DL didn't suffer much, but I definitely ddin't feel too great in my erectors... feel like I may have had a very slight strain. From now on I'll do lunges or something instead of squats on day 1, that way I won't put as high of a load on my lower back, even if it's not an issue to begin with.
