Wow that was fast I just got the UPS email :big grin: Glad you like it and UPS didn't abuse it too much.

Tip: if you put the cocking ring at a 45 degree position between safe and fire you can cycle the action without the gun being capable of firing.

Oh also this guy sells slings, and muzzle caps, and clips, etc http://www.tngunparts.com/k312.htm His shipping is fairly slow but its a source..

Sadly no tag on that one but it did come out with a relatively non-beaver molested stock.

My k31 with a tag looks like it has grill marks

 The one I handled at the local shop was severly molested by beavers.

Soybomb, what ammunition do you shoot through your K31(s)? I've got a few boxes of the GP11, but I've been shooting Privi Partisan/Wolf Gold for reloading. Are there any other manufacturers besides Norma that you know of?

Nope I think you've got all the manufactuers covered. Hornady might make a few hunting loads or something but aim surplus seems to have the best price with prvi.

I'm going to start loading 168 grain Nosler polymer tipped rounds for my K31. I'm glad they use .308 diameter bullets, lots of flexibility.

    K-31 signing the fuck in.

I figure I'm going to wait till I get maybe 1k fired prvi cases, then get some GP11 to chrono, and reload my stuff to that spec (irons ftw).

but yah, 50cents a round makes the baby jesus cry.

Atleast its cheaper than .308 though, and soon it'll be cheaper than .223 even

I'm trying to find a piece of silicone that I could stuff in a primer hole to make a "snap cap" for my K31.

I've not heard of broken firing pins from dry firing (the k31)... Examples?

edit: I'm still amazed at how much higher quality my k31s feel than my other c&r guns.

It's bad form to dry-fire bolt-action rifles. Generally any firearm that doesn't have a spring that keeps the firing pin held back, will wear somewhat if dry-fired. Something as unique as a K31 would be hard to get a replacement firing pin.

To each his own :big grin:

The K31 manual does warn that firing without the charging handle completely forward and the gun fully in battery can break the follower pin off the cam though, be sure your bolt is fully closed!

I actually have copies of an original K-31 manual, I should look and see if I can find something about that :o

Well, I found a piece of hard rubber to use as a "primer" in my snap-cap. I'm just waiting for the adhesive to dry.
