So I just bought a batch of 50 DVDs and haven't used my burner in about 6 months anyway Nero won't detect my drive and just has Hard Disk Image as an option to burn. I took my case apart checked everything including jumpers, reflashed the firmware for the drive, I put in a regular DVD and it played perfect. Its detected in the My Computer window but it won't let me burn. Nero just won't detect it.

    Any ideas?

My HP lightscribe had the same problem. After emailing tech support, said the laser was most likely bad & since my warranty was up, couldn't do much except send it over to get fixed. I only burned 2 DVDs with it, POS cost $110. I could still burn CDs. I don't know if it was really the laser, but I checked all the connections & whatever.
Ended up buying a new Samsung lightscribe DVD burner off newegg for $30 shipped.
