I don't know all the details, only known him for a few months. He was expressing interest in enlisting in the Army. Went to a recruiter and all that jazz. Got a waiver for dependents... Got through MEPS for his initial visit and had to go back for his MOS (Signal, Communications... something like that). When he arrived he was told to go see so-and-so. He walked in the office and there was this Sgt. and his recruiter in there. He was told that there are no more spots in his MOS of choice and only Infantry remains. This is why his recruiter was there an advised him that he didn't have to sign even though this other Sgt. was pressuring him. He didn't sign and it doesn't look like they are going to take him for anything else. I feel bad for the guy because he was really looking forward to it. Three young kids and a wife to support and this was his way to a decent life (economy). I know how bad my enlistment process was and how my recruiter "said" some stuff and I "signed" other stuff. It has been a year since graduating boot camp, months after I finished my A school and I am still on reserve orders. Does anyone have any advise I can pass to him? Thanks.
