I'm curious what kind of stuff can be done pretty easily for more power, what needs to be done etc. it can use nitrous, whatever...it'll never be supercharged though :squint:

what is the usual recommended shit to do for a pretty fast car...not looking for a gutted etc car, just general shit...

171 a month in insurance rather then 143 with a fucking MR2 turbo is bullshit.

even with liability its not much less then my mr2 would have been with full coverage, not to mention i wouldn't have the money if it was ever my fault

i'll turbo it if i have the money but superchargers = crap

    Turbo > NA > nitrous > shit > supercharger

but when you factor in price, nitrous is cheaper then NA and supercharger is still shit.

and i have owned and driven decently fast cars and one of the most difficult cars to drive at the limit so suck me beautiful

    LT1, LS1? Bolt-ons n' junk?

First you gotta decide if your going to be going from more rolls, or racing from a dead dig. Dead dig = auto, roll = manual.

Nitrous, with colder plugs, 100 shot, all day on both motors. 150 seems to be the max, but you should take some timing out with it. The Hyperucraptic pistons they put in these things don't like power adders.

    You've got questions, I've got answers. :)

superchargers take power to make power for one. they are less efficient then turbo's at the same boost. from my point of view they are garbage. the only reason they are ran in drag racing is since turbo's are banned.

because he's convinced NNAAAWWWSSS is supreme god over all. (Domestic Fast and Furious DVD owner, I'm sure)

Race an F-body with your 150 Shot. Against same car with a Kenny Bell or ProCharger on like a 6 lb pulley.

I can keep this really simple, or I can get into detail...what do you want ?

LS1. I want an electronic cut-out but that's just for the less obvious to obvious effect.

i can't really decide whether i want an auto or manual, it is basically up to what i could find at the time since basically either would be fine. i prefer to drive a manual around but the launching etc of an auto does seem tempting.

so the pistons are the crap of the engine?

also isn't it relatively cheap to tune the ecu etc on f-bodies...don't you just need a programmer or what not....:dunno:

i know all of the basics, its just the f-bod/ domestic special stuff that i don't know yet....

    :(

oh and if i was going to spend the money to supercharge a car i'd be far more interested in turbocharging it....that is why super = crap

lid, cutout, small shot of nitrous and you'll be faster then a lot out there

then you wanna start looking at headers and a cam, then heads if you're really serious

you could easily blow 4-5k on mods for the ls1

oh...and you can kiss the rear diff goodbye after a couple hard launches with slicks

ask him why the top classes in the NHRA don't run turbochargers. they can be fast its just that every sport other then drag racing has caught on to the fact that turbochargers are better. drag racing just bans them, sort of like when nascar reads the words technology....
