Have him sign up on OT and direct him to WMD. We'll take care of him shortly.

Well a 22 is better than harsh language and hand gestures. If your going up against a bad guy that is not motivated you "may" have a chance. They may decide to find an easier target after a few bee stings.

Truth is the 22 can be very effective in the right hands. Somebody is going to bring up the fact that the .22 is responsable for a good number of killings etc. The thing is usually when people bring up these "hitman" type scenarios the 22 is usually in the hands of somebody fairly competent and they are choosing time and place of use of force.

In a defensive shooting situation you generally have the cards stacked against you so most of us would try to get as much advantage as possible. This is either a high capacity pistol or a large caliber pistol. The 22 is neither of these, but again any gun is better than no gun.

I dunno... you gotta try pretty hard to fuck up modern guns nowadays, and that's how it should be IMO. :dunno:

Shouldn't have to require constant attention and maintenance to keep your gun(s) functional and reliable.

We just chalked it up to it being a Bersa, put it back in the bag and ran a few hundred rounds through our Glocks and EBRs.

Last year at a halloween party I was at there was a shooting, some big gangsterish dude got hit in the mid thigh with a .22 splintering his femur up pretty well you should have seen the swelling he was laying on the ground crying. We helped him till the EMTs got there. I think If you were to get hit anywhere in center mass with .22 you would be going down maybe not dead but definatley incapicitated.

Someone who is completely sober? Maybe.

Someone with massive adrenaline or other drugs? Don't be so sure...

Let me shoot you in the lower leg, I can aim so I don't hit bone. One shot. It should be no big deal, right? No hollow point rounds, either. I'll even pay you $250 to take the bullet. We film it and put it up on youtube, one shot through the calf.
