I was just wondering how old you guys are, what kind of insurance you have, and how much you pay for your insurance.

I used to have hermitage ins, and paid $420 for 6 months worth of liability. They charge $770 for me per year.

As of today, I am with a company called McGraw, and they charged me only $258 for a years worth of liability. Their full coverage wasn't all that bad at 898 dollars for the year, compared with geico, which quoted me at $3,600 /year. Geico wouldnt do liability because my bike is financed.

Progressive was better than geico $546 for liability only, and roughly $2,500 for a years worth of full coverage.

State Farm was a bunch of douche bags who wouldnt give me motorcycle ins cuz I dont have car ins with them, so I told the woman on the phone "FINE, then DON'T take my money" and hung up on her,

btw, I'm 22 w/ a 2005 Suzuki Katana 600, with one ticket on my license.

Male under 25 gets raped by cycle insurance.
    Need to shop around
Progressive Drive is good i pay 1300 full coverage for the year with them
Dairyland/Motorcycle Services was pretty good at 1800/ full coverage for the year. THey offer lots of discounts too.
Geico will offer a ton of discounts but is higher and won't insure you with a bad mark on your record
BTW this is with 2 speeders and 1 at fault and on a 2005 984cc bike

btw, I encourage you guys to check out and get a quote over the net with McGraw, to see maybe if its cheaper for you than your current insurance..

Holy moly.. there has to be something more wrong with your record, or you have bad credit or some kind of blemish somewhere in your files, cause I'm only 22 and liability was, like I said, only $258 and Full coverage was $898.. I had one ticket from 2 years or so ago, and 1 accident not at fault from 3 years ago. Maybe you should call it in, let them run a license check, it might be lower...

Oh...well if you want a more accurate quote, you should allow them to access your credit files...you may end up with a fairly low number...

And how old are you with what kinda bike?

I'm 32, married, and have a clean driving record. I know it's just a scooter, but it gets insured as a 200cc motorcycle, which makes sense, since it's registered as a motorcycle, and I have to have motorcycle endorsment to ride. But for full coverage on my 2005 Piaggio BV200 ($5k new) with $250 deductible is only $10/month through State Farm, same place I have my car insured. The gas savings I get with it pays for the insurance, plus some, during the riding season (which is too short here in Oregon).

24 with clean record and great credit (which does matter)
    2004 R6
    liability and comp $1k deductible

    State Farm = $475 a year

It will be going down abit soon, I'm moving to a different burb and insurance is cheaper there.

    word for word:

"They're either really slow at responding to you if you make a claim, or they deny it, or they rape you when it comes to giving you fair restitution on any items that need repair."
