So, having little bit of a back and forth with a guy that says his a700 can give him 4 stops of IS using the inbody image stabilization that is in his Sony. He's going on and on about how superior it is to anything Canon/Nikon/Sigma/ect. He praises how well it works on his 400mm 1970's Minolta something lens...

So what do you think works better? In body "Super Steady Shot" or in lens IS/VR/OS/ect.

The closer that the image stabilization is to the center of gravity of the camera, the more efficient it will be.

Sony's complete line up of cameras is a joke.

Yep... pretty much tried to explain that to him, but he's convinced that Canon and Nikon just put IS into a lens because it makes them more expensive... lol

Not really... pay is really good and they get all the free gear they want.

To give you an idea, she was making 15k to 20k per wedding event and fully booked.

Now she is going to be making how to dvds, and doing workshops all over the world.

Well, Canon and Nikon actually DO put IS in their lenses because they can charge a shit ton for it.

As far as which system is better, I don't know because I've never used a Sony. It would be cool to have IS on all my lenses though :o

I thought sony lenses were usually priced higher than their nikon counterparts:

    A sony 70-200 is $1799 on amazon
    A nikon 70-200 is 1729 on amazon
