Odd pattern of events honestly. I have a VW Tourage on lease and it's up in march. The buy out is to high for what the car is worth plus my wife crashed it twice so I know were it has been. Any way my friend who works for VW is giving me his 09 TSI Jetta (I'm taking over his lease) for 260 a month and he has already chipped the car. Today I drove the car into work and man what a awsome motor. I'm going to mod it with I think a ARP exhaust some intake and then coil overs. I wonder what I can do to it to stop TQ steering? Any OTers have a TSI GTI/GLI/Jetta with mods please comment.

    Thanks and Marry Xmas!!!

    You mean APR exhaust, right?

What software does he have already?

If you're going coils, go B&G, you won't regret it. CAI's are a dime a dozen, just make sure it's a K&N filter.

    Right APR

    I'll look at the B&Gs

the Chip is GAIC with a hand held map loader.

I drove the car to the Keys and Miami last week and honestly I'm thinking of not doing the exhaust any time soon because it sounds so good. I just might start the the coil overs and wheels.

Yes new name the older 2T was a FSI motor.

the TSI has a chain driving the cams instead of cam belt
Also the fuel pump flows more and now is driven off the exhaust cam
    Less compression
    Bigger turbo

Well that's what my friend told me again he works for VW and knows everything about it. I could be wrong on some things I'm just writing what he told me.

Your wife crashed the Touareg twice during a single lease?

Tell me she isn't allowed to drive anymore.

She is my girl, washes my dirty underware, cooks me dinner/makes me a healthy lunch for work, going to be the mother of my childern and deals with my family issues that I don't even want to bother to deal with.

She can crash anything she wants. It's only a fucking car.

It's nice that you value her so much. Do you value the people she might be crashing into, also?

I wasn't serious about not letting her drive. However, an SUV might not be the best thing for her to play bumper-cars with. Maybe she'd be better off with something smaller, more maneuverable, with fewer blind-spots, and impossible to roll over.

The way I see it is if you put her in something smaller, she'll have to learn how to drive properly; i.e., not running into things. I think that's better for all concerned, including her -- and you, because you pay her insurance.

If that Saturn cut in front of your wife's Tahoe, that was their fault, no doubt about it. However, if your wife had been driving a Camry (or maybe a BMW or Mercedes, if you want a stronger car), your wife still would've been fine and the driver of the Saturn probably would've been okay too.

Maybe a new Passat, or if she wants to be up high, a Tiguan?

Honestly, if you like the feel from the TSI 2.0T Jetta, get your wife a Tiguan. They are also equipped with the 2.0T and are identical to modding the Jetta. Get an APR/Giac/REVO flash for it and you're good to go. She'll have an awesome compact SUV/Grocery getter with some pep in the step!

I drive a 98 honda civic DX because I have a 55 mile one way commute. Also there is no way I can get the Tiguan for 260 a month with 15K miles a year lease. I have a 01 M3 Cabrio as my Miami/nice dinners/flash car. I needed to replace the Tourag because the lease is up and they are not willing to deal much on the buy out price. So yes the Tiguan would be cool but the jetta suits my needs well. Nice safe quility car for the wife that I enjoy to drive as well.
