this is probably the most frustrating thing ive ever experienced. i started rugby in september. ever since then my strength has slowly gone down.

my old DL pr was 485x1. now its 455. my old front squat pr was 315x4 now its 315x2, maybe 3. ive lost about 4 lbs since i started. my diet has stayed about the same, i may be eating slightly more now. but not much.

its weird because not all of my lifts have gone down. just the two i consider most important. some lifts have gotten stronger while others have remained the same

i could only pull 455 yesterday and i was completely dejected after it

what do you guys think i should do?

Well, you exercise more, but you made probably no change in rest and few to no change in diet. You're probably not eating as much as you did if we take into account the exercise judging by your weight loss.

Most athletes get weaker during their season and get stronger during the offseason. Doesn't sound odd to me at all.

well no shit dude, you're taxing your legs all day doing that shit and not eating more, what do you expect?

also, i think you could use some variation in your training. i know it works for you, for now, but just doing working up to a 1-2rm on every exercise all the time with no variation probably isn't the best idea.

I was always weaker during rugby and football season too from all the running and such.

Wait until off-season when you can get in the gym more often and put 100% towards lifting and you'll be fine.
I wouldn't really worry about it. DL'ing 30lbs less won't make any noticeable difference in daily, practical strength.
