WTF? Do I need to eat better ro something? Start doing cardio?

I cut back on eating, but went into "keytosis."

I don't eat fast food, and I think I usually eat pretty well, and avoid gratuitious shit eating.

WTF am i doing wrong? Do i need to work out harder?

    depends on your goals

working out doesn't mean you won't get a gut.

I started just to add some muscle to the upper body and chest. I've had decent gains in that area, and I half ass work my lower body, just because lower body is in pretty good shape.

It seems like over the last week I've scored this gut. Maybe its from an ab injury or something. I started doing those inverted sit ups. I did 4 sets of 50 because they fealt pretty easy. That was last sunday, and I'm still sore. My pelvic area was really swollen earlies this week. Maybe this is more of what I injured.

Another thing I don't understand is how to get my body to burn fat. It seems like I always start these cardio "tear downs" and after like two days in, I go into keytosis.

if you eat more cals than you expend, you will have a surplus of calories. Some of it will go toward muscle building. Some of it will go toward fat buildup. That's just how it is.

    thanks

I'm still kinda lost though. I don't know how much I should be eating, comprared to how much i'm lifting. I also don't know what to do about cardio, and I don't know why I keep injuring myself. I've been into this shit for 6 months now, I've stopped gaining muscle, and now I'm getting fat.

wow, this is sketchy, i'm a fullitme unemployed student, so its tough to have a set dinner regimin

    no breakfast

    lunch &/or dinner
either a sub sandwitch with a bunch of shit on it & soup
    or
1/2 lb of beef, in some sort of asian dish with a bunch of assorted veggies
mexican steak with sautee'd veggies (peruvian style)
3 chicken breast and a shitload of pasta
3 chicken breast and a shitload of wild rice

I eat chicken fried chicken once per week, and 1 burger per week for one of these meals

Sometimes i only get to eat once per day. I also drink both bear and liquor heavily. I'd say i drink 10 drinks per weekday evening, and 20 or so firdays and saturdays.

I'm sorry, but those are all excuses to keep yourself from getting the body you want.

Figure out what is more important to you. If it's working out, you will make time. You are not a special and unique snowflake... there are many people with way worse schedules and lives, yet train and gain well

Well, I'm not going to stop drinking. I don't know what to do about the food issue. I seriously cannot eat the same shit every day. I thought I was doing a good job on the food.

You can do what I do. Buy energy bars in bulk and carry a few around at all times. It's not cheap but it'll work. Two bars will have about 500 cals. Or mix a few scoops of whey with sugar. Takes a minute and packs a few hundred cals too.

Am I working out enough to take in that many cals though? Apparently I'm not burning all I take it, if I've started to get a gut...unless thats leftover from an injury.

you don't have to eat the same thing every day, I promise. The point is that you need to eat a nutritionally sound diet each day, while making sure you get enough protein and calories to grow. Your diet is especially important if you are a heavy drinker, because the alcohol is negatively affecting every cell in your body. Imagine what happens when your couple nutrient deficiencies with that...

You have one MAJOR problem, everything else isn't horrible but...

"I also drink both bear and liquor heavily. I'd say i drink 10 drinks per weekday evening, and 20 or so firdays and saturdays."

10 drinks a day on the weekdays = 50 drinks a week? Then add 40 drinks on the weekend? If I am understanding this right, its the reason you have the gut...its basically counter productive to eating and working out. Alcohol basically fucks your training up. Not only are you getting a shitload of extra calories, but your body can't recover properly when taking all that toxic shit in.

You need to go to AA or find something to keep you occupied- about a year ago I had some problems and wound up drinking close to 20 drinks a night for four weeks straight...and it wreaked havoc on my body. Look for a life change, IMO I would attack the alcohol problem before nutrition and lifting.

how many times a week do you do that routine?

oh, and do you not own legs?
I would start doing a routine designed by someone else, because your are probably doing more harm than good if you do that more than once a week :(

Alcohol also surpressess testosterone, which makes you build fat in the stomach area more readily. Hence the term beer gut.
