I've never come across one, you guys know of any?
tengen toppa gurren lagann
...i was thinking about the same thing recently. a lot of the ones not based on manga are good.
i would try to say tsukihime, fate stay night, bible black, and air... but they are technically based on something, game.
and there are those that are from novels like haruhi.
i believe darker than black isn't based on a manga either. at least the wiki page doesn't mention a manga
Nope. GITS was originally a manga way before the first movie aired.
well thats WRONG.
legend of galactic heroes, full metal panic, suzumiya haruhi, all based off novels
gunbuster, evangelion, gundam seed, hell amost all gundam, the anime comes first then they expand it with manga.
you just havnt watched enough stuff....
Gungrave, GunXsword, Samurai Champloo (the series started airing before the manga), Last Exile...thats all I have that count that haven't been mentioned.
There are some made from novels, like Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, some from eroges, some that are adapted straight into anime form although those seem least common..
ascaflowne and macross straight adaptations?
eureka seven was a anime before the manga
I think youre not understanding the question. He is asking if there are any anime's that aren't based on other material but are original concepts of the anime companies.
i understood, just expanded my response to stuff that was not asked
Watch Samurai Champloo!
