Is there a program that exists that allows you to chop down MP3s to a reasonable size? I mean, you wouldn't want a five-minute-long ringtone. And then once you got the MP3 cut down to size, is there a way you can transfer it to a cell phone in such a way that the MP3 will be recognizeable as a ringer?

Ringtones are not Teh New Hotness :slap:

With that said, download Audacity and it's fairly straightforward and easy once you start playing with it. It's free.

I use full MP3s, it stops ringing when it stops ringing. Doesn't play the whole song.

the answer is no. it is not possible to make your own ringtones. and it is not possible to chop an mp3. and it is not possible to put mp3's on your phone for any reason

it simply can't be done ever. :mamoru:

I use BitPim to transfer via USB cable (BT xfer sucks, IMHO) and I use MEDA MP3 Splitter to chop my mp3s.
