i started it yesterday and i'm sore as fawk today. power cleans killed me. and i'm not sure i'm doing them right.

I know i'll be even more sore tomorrow so i'm wondering if i am supposed to stick with the workout schedule and "work thru" the soreness, or wait til soreness is gone and then keep going?

and when soreness isnt an issue, i would do the full 3 days a week program?

    dunno

    thanks

i understand about working thru the soreness and lighter weights but rippetoe calls for you to use your 5 rep max each workout.

i'll keep searching, see if i can find an answer.

how long did you do it for and what kind of results did you get?

did you get pretty sore the first day and then continue on to the next workout, 2 days later?

this was my first serious routine that i followed. first time i squatted and first time i deadlifted.

    starting numbers:
    squat- 3x5 @ 140
    DL- 1x8 @ 185
    DB Bench- 3x5 @ 45s

    now:
    squat- 3x5 @ 245
    DL - 1x5 @ 315
    DB Bench- 3x5 @ 75s

right now i'm on the bill starr routine because i figured i was ready for the next step...it's a great routine.
power cleans, i stayed away from because they were wayy too explosive (ya, i'm a pussy, i guess)

edit: and ya, the first week i was sore as hell. for some reason, squattting 3 days a week was :eek5: to me...but later on, i got used to it and i'm happy i did it. i love full body routines.
after i took a month break (i was fasting for Ramadan), that next week was insane. went back to the gym...i was never so sore :(

    another question,

did you warmup / ramp up to your worksets on every exercise or just the first one of the day?

it's mostly focused on coaching, but i learned a hell of a lot from it. it's well worth it.
