I'm okay with that. Makes for a good third movie when he's smashed trying to fight the Mandarin. Or drunk during the Avengers. Or drunk in Thor and Donald Blake comes to help him.

Makes sense the way they described it. He announced at the end of the first one that he is Iron Man and the 2nd will deal with him trying to figure out what that means to be a super hero. Then the 3rd one can be his drinking interfering with his duties as a super hero.

My thoughts exactly. Spider-man, while a great movie for the time, really doesn't hold up to the standards that Iron Man set. It's been what, 8 years? I watch that movie and it feels so dated.

I can't stand Spider-Man anymore but 2 is still good. Iron Man can easily be a much better series, especially after Spider-Man 3.

they figured a confusing plot straying away from everything that made casino royale good and tons of mindless dumb action would make it good... it didnt

spider-man needs a revamp, plain and simple. no complicated bullshit, just give him kraven or the lizard and get some decent writers on the deal, and you've got a another 500 million dollar movie on your hands.

second iron man will probably be good, but it's got some big shoes to fill. spider man 2 was excellent, and X2 was probably my favorite comic book movie ever.

According to Sam Raimi, SM3 was sony's fuck up and not his.. he didn't have creative control. There's some award winning author penning the script for SM4 and it should be finished and ready to shoot in the summer.

quantum had action, but it was building towards the third movie.

watching them back to back, it's better.

Dark Knight was just "fuck it, we're doing it live!" and didn't bother saving anything for later. which was why it was so

as much as I liked the sandman parts... I think they could have honestly done without him because he started to play second chair ... they could have just developed Venom more and ignored Sandman altogether and it would have made the movie a bit better... sure as fuck would have made the budget for all the Venom CG better by far :o

The whole deal with why it's so frowned upon compared to other comic book movies is that most of them (excluding Dare Devil) have one main bad guy, and a lot of little antagonists going along...

Movies like SM3 focused on both Venom and Sandman, Daredevil focused on both Bullseye and Kingpin.

The X-Men movies were perfectly fine with Magneto and his followers being the support antagonists.

Hulk had T-Bolt Ross who is the middle ground antagonist and then Abomination as the eventual main baddy (I won't talk about the Ang Lee Hulk, fuck that bullshit)

Punisher (Jane) had an ok premise, but they tried to put a big name badguy into it and they shouldn't have (Travolta should never be allowed to be in a movie like that).

Punisher War Zone had again, just the one main, with a decent support antagonist, and it was, to me and plenty others, a better movie than the first.

When you focus on tearing the Hero between two super bad guys, it becomes a pain in the ass to follow and leaves a lot of holes... This is why the original Batman (Keaton) was great, it had only the Joker, Batman Returns started to get a little difficult but was still at least pulled off decently. Batman Forever and Batman & Robin had far too many baddies going on at the same time, and far too many big name actors who honestly did a piss-poor job because there was nothing left in the franchise at the time to make worth a fucking decent movie.

Batman Begins worked well because Rah's Al Ghul was only the baddie at the very end, and everyone was just kind of following his lead, so Morone and Scarecrow had their places but were only the support antangonists in the end. Dark Knight basically only had Joker again with TwoFace a slight support in the end. But the main focus was on Joker the entire time.

i'm ranting, but when they want to do far too much in a comic book movie as far as super heroes vs. super villains, it just gets to be too much of a clusterfuck and unfortunately, you get things of a shitty nature.

Please note, I didn't mention the FF4 movies, because those were just fucking terrible all around :o Michael Chiklis is probably the only saving grace out of those.

I dunno, I thought chris evans nailed the part of Johnny, and the chemistry between those two were perfect.
