Because a couple of our account managers are adamant on using a particular contractor that can't code for shit because he's "cheap and fast".

I'm no longer supporting this guys code after today.

I'm just bitching. Although, I'm certain working on this assholes project takes about 5 years off of my life.

solution is a tiered rate system:

working on the stuff you wrote: $60/hr
working on stuff someone else wrote: $90/hr

This may sound a bit contradictory, but I have little problems working on projects most competent developers create. This guys code is completely asinine, it is non-functional, and is driving me insane.

The task was handed to me because he was unable to fix bugs that he created. I'm border-line ready to scrap the whole thing and start over from scratch.

Sux working on stuff other people have made, especially when they're crap.

When I got my job, they'd previously use contractors, who made an absolute MESS of everything. Took me WEEKS just to get stuff just working how it was supposed to, let alone move on to making any improvements.

    I feel you bro.

A fellow contractor wrote an "enterprise library" that my project which launches on Wednesday uses.

I have had to fix 0 bugs in my code (so far lolz), but i have had to fix about 10 in his. Every one which has made ME look like a dick because shit don't work. He fucking thinks he is a god too. He fucking argued with me for 3 hours about conventions of doing something. He was setting memory to null before releasing it, he was claming he was reusing it again later - so he didn't need to dispose of it

HOW THE FUCK DO YOU RECLAIM MEMORY YOU SET TO NULL FAGGOT

The job i'm at now requires me to work on stuff that 3 different people have had their hands in. Although their shit does work, the complete lack of thought put behind some of our applications boggles my mind. I hate having to work on other peoples shit. I'm currently in the process of redoing our backend from scratch. Going live on wednesday :noes:
