...when trying to install XP, it formats the HD just fine, and then enters the "copying files" stage. It says that NTLDR is missing.

And if I boot it up, with no CD in the CD-ROM, it tells me
    NTLDR is missing
    press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

Is this HD shot or am I doing something wrong?

NTLDR is the boot loader. From what you describe it seems it can't find it on the CD or something :dunno:

The CD works perfect, I've installed windows on my other computer with it numerous times....

And also, even when I boot up with no CD in the drive, it still says its missing.

Could this be a jumper setting problem at all?
