So I'm trying to get serious in the gym now....

    Yeah, I'm ready for flames and smartasses. I fingure I'm more honest about my routine if I post it as opposed to just writing it in a journal.

    Total gym time: 90min


    Cardio on bike (80rpm) 20 min

    Routine in order performed:

    Flat Bench with DB 60lbs each 3x12
    Pec Deck Machine 130lbs 3x10
    Incline Bench with DB 50lbs each 3x10
    Alternated sets between these:
    Skull Crushers on flat bench 45lbs 3x10
    Lat Pull down Machine 130lbs 3x10
    Alternated sets between these:
    Rope Pull down 90lbs 3x10
    Low Row 100lbs 3x10
    Alternated sets between these:
    Seated Curls with 30lbs alternating 3x10
    Tricep Extensions 40lbs 3x10


    Yeah I wanted to focus on one muscle group but it just felt good to do more and mix it up. For the first time in a while I honestly enjoyed going to the gym.

    Protein Syntha 6 before and after workout.
    Trib this morning. (I had it, I should at least use it)
    Cellmass after workout. (Does this even work? I dunno, I had a tub a friend gave me last month)
    NOExplode before workout (Same as Cellmass -- Hey, if it's there and was free, why not?)

    I've made it a point to attempt to eat every 3-4 hours since I got off shift.


    Honestly my goals: I just wanna look good -- is that too selfish? Strength awesome? Cardio sure, that'd be great. But dammit I wanna get laid. :hsd:

    get a real routine from the routine thread in the archives, or try Pur's routine stickied at the top of F&N. If you are in it for the aesthetic purposes, Pur's routine is where it's at.

    That many exercises is far too much to be doing at once and I doubt you'd be able to recover properly to do it again a coupel days later anyhow.

    I'll probably be sore in a couple days, but dammit it felt good to be activate ya know

    I feel the same way... if I work out on my own without a set plan I end up going heavy on every exercise and it just wears me out eventually. If you stick to a routine you'll get the right amount of intensity to build muscle and strength at a level that won't hurt you (as long as you follow it intelligently).

    Yeah see I tried to do a preset workout once -- it honestly felt like I wasn't doing anything at all. Little discouraged by it because I didn't feel a 'pump'.

    Then a few months ago I picked up one of Arnolds books -- followed it to the letter for 3 weeks and couldnt wipe my ass without being in pain. :rofl:

    I really want to get defined and cut -- yeah that's cliche I know.

    Current weight is 217 and 6'1.

    I'm copying Pur's right now to use tomorrow
