A&P So I'm thinking about sellint my nikkor 18-70 and getting a tamron 17-50....

    From what I hear, it can be as sharp as the nikkor 17-55 and its 1/3 the price.

    I just need to find a good deal on it. :o

    It doesn't have anything with it, though.

    No box, no manual, no stand, no pouch, but I don't care. I don't need any of that anyway...well..maybe the pouch..but it's not that big of a deal.

    i just did that. go for it, the 17-50 is a great lens.

    Yeah, I heard one of the main differences is build quality (you can beat someone with the 17-55 and the lens will still be fine). I was thinking of doing the same exact change too... 18-70 to 17-50.

    its just as sharp...but something everyone needs to know..it doesn't focus as fast..and trust me that can be a BIG reason to pay the premium

    I haved the 28-75 and I really really want the 17-55, its on my shopping list
