I'm 22 years old, and of course most people I know will sleep with anything that moves. This is true of both males and females, females are just less likely to boast about it. My question is why are people are so flippant about stds? Condoms are not perfect, and they dont do anything about herpes even if used properly. It strikes me as VERY funny when people cry about getting an std (or a child... but that's another issue) when they jump at the opprotunity to sleep with someone they met at a bar on Friday night.

I'm worried about getting struck by lightning. You can take every precaution when outside during a storm to not get hit - not standing under any trees, not holding anything metal above you head, staying low to the ground. But there is still that small chance that even though you take ever precaution to not get stuck by lighting you could still get zapped. It strikes me as VERY funny when I hear about people getting struck by lighting because I just stay in my cold cellar not having any fun while it is storming outside just to be on the safe side.

The chance of getting struck by lightning are very slim, but over 50% of sexually active people get a std before age 25.

I seriously doubt the number is that high, unless you're talking about in Africa only or such :)

    .

Plus all the dumb fucks that don't take precautions would also up that number. There is no point in not doing something in life because something bad might happen. Just be sure to take all the proper steps to minimize the chances of something bad happeneing. Next time you are skiing down a mountain, just think about what could happen to you if you were to fall and hit a tree :eek3: - best just stay in the challet

    Woaw. But. Yeah.. :eek3:

Don't go around wondering "What if?". Like that other guy said, there are a number of way your life can get messed up. Going around worrying about each of them will only reduce the quality and the enjoyment of your life.

Nope, I feel the same way. I'm amazed how stupid people act when it comes to sex. People want to live in denial and think that it will never happen to them.

Sure you should be cautious and aware, and use some sort of discretion when choosing partners, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it like I did when I was first having sex. The percentages are there to scare you, and they do a good job.

Here's my advice: Use condoms, get tested with some regularity if you are a real whore. Don't have with sex minority, homosexual, drug users :o

    It's easy.

Don't bang a chick before she shows you the results of her STD test.

Of course, in order to not be a hypocrite, you have to do the same. That means getting a cotton swab stuck up your urethra.

While good for a laugh I think we'd all agree that it sure isn't working that way. The people who we'd most like to use condoms are usually the most likely to not use them and wind up spitting out a couple kids.

Anyway have sex however you like and don't worry about the other people. You'll be pretty safe from std's and pregnancy if you use protection and a little common sense. If you manipulate the statistics and are intentionally misleading you can make people think that if you aren't monogamous you're going to get aids in a week.
