Sorry for the link. That's approximately what I'm eating each day right now.

I'm 5'6" and around 175 now but after a 5 month bulk I feel like I'm getting way too chunky from it. Gonna drop down to 165 and reassess then.

I guess the obvious thing there to do would be to lower carbs. But what else could I do? Are there other foods I could be substituting in that would be more cut-friendly?

From what I read the idea is to keep carbs and fat fairly low while maintaining protein levels which I get plenty of.

And I know the calories are a bit high....

Drop carbs to about 200g. Up fat to about 75g. Keep protein around the same.

That should put you around 2200 cals.

That's a good place to start IMO.

I agree with more fat, less carbs. Less calories overall, too...try 2300 or so and see where it gets you.

    .

srsly, My diet next bulk diet is going to come in at lower marcro's than your cut diet. And i'm 5'11 172ish, fairly lean, and i'd be willing to bet carry more lean muscle mass.

Thanks for the input. I knew the calories were high, I just didn't realize they were that high until today when I put it all into Fitday.

I'm gonna eliminate the quick oats since I was just using them to bulk before as well as cut bread down to a couple slices a day with a tuna sandwich.

As for a good food with fat and very little carbs, I'm gonna throw in some nuts and I think that will pretty much even things out.

Why cut out the oats? Looks like you should cut out that apple

but then I have hardly any fruit. And I like apples. The oats are a lot of calories and carbs and very little else.

the oats are complex carbs, slow digesting, stave off hunger, high in fiber.

    apple is mostly simple sugar.

Simply put, if it were me I would cut the carbs in half and double your fat intake via emphasizing healthy fats like nuts, oils, egg yolks etc.
