I just finished the APFT with the recruiter and passed...so I think I'm an E-2 now? He only said I was getting more money, so I just assume that means I'm not an E-1 anymore :dunno: (btw I'm talking about the full pushups/situps/2 mile run)

Now it's time for me to just kick back, watch some TV today and get fucking plastered tonight with some friends. Then I head off to MEPS/the hotel on Sunday afternoon. I still haven't figured out how to tell one of my oldest friends that I've joined :hs:

I don't think it's dawned on me yet that I won't be seeing my friends and family for the next few months. And I'm still not sure exactly what to expect in Basic...I've tried reading up on the basics (no pun intended :mamoru:), but haven't gone too in depth about it so I don't go in with any preconceived notions about it. At this point I can only go in with an open mind and a willingness to do my best, and I hope that's all I will need.

I'm a little nervous at this point, but I think once I'm on the bus with all the other guys who are just as nervous, I should be good.

(oh and Ranger can you make sure my account doesn't get pruned? thanks)

You'll be nervous until you get past your 1st or 2nd week of actual basic training. :hs:

Headed to the recruiter in a couple of hours :run:

I feel dumb with that big backpack filled with only a few small toiletries and an extra pair of underwear :hs:

Oh, and this is the first time I've worn whitey-tities in 10+ years.

I was the only one who wore whitey tities to MEPS. Everyone else had boxers on. I felt really cool.

only one extra pair of underwear? :ugh:

go commando when wearing your PT shorts; there are no whitey tighties, they're tighty tannies; you're gonna want to strangle someone when you actually start basic, drink water, be invisible, don't be a meatgazer

It's what I'm supposed to bring :hsugh: I'm a little worried because I'm supposed to bring a HS transcript/diploma, but I lost those and had to get a new one for MEPS...which the guy kept there. Dunno if it'll be a problem when I get there or if they'll just say, "Oh yeah you already showed it to us." :dunno:

    C 2/47 Ft. Benning, graduated Nov. 2004.

Do what you are told, speak when spoken to, and say Drill Sergeant every damn chance you get: beginning of, in, and the end of every sentence.

There are going to be some pussies in your platoon that hold you down, beat their asses.

Working as a team will get you slaughtered much less also!

Enjoy Goodyear field, and runs involving lots of hills!

OOOOOO the range days are fun, especially when it is warm out. The combination of leeches, brown recluses, and hott shitty smell are awesome!
