And finally buy a good camera again. But I need some advice here. Currently I have a Nikon Cool Pix for a point and shoot, and I understand what people are saying about the amount of noise. I used to own a Canon Rebel SLR and loved it, but sold it to a family member cause film was getting to expensive to constantly buy and I had moved out on my own, needed to extra money.

    I was considering this:
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...canon&lp=8&type=product&cp=2&id=1099394810083

But was wondering after reading a couple threads in here if it would be worth it to get the extra $150 to get the XTi.

    What do you think :wavey:

Yes, unless the extra cost prohibits you from buying the accessories you NEED to use an SLR effectively. This of course depends on what you want to shoot but you will eventually need to budget money for a reasonable lens, etc. If you do not see yourself being able to spend more in the future then save your money and buy a good powershot or stick to the coolpix.

The XT kit is on sale here too. Thats why I am asking, if the XT isn't worth it then I'll go with the XTi, but if the XT is a good camera then I'll jump on the sale.

The XT is really nice and the price is just ridiculously low for what you get. The kit lens is meh, but get it anyway and a 50mm 1.8 to play around with. But I'm pretty much a nub too.

Yea I'm just looking for a good camera to play with. I am a professional by no means but love taking pictures. I was thinking this was the best way to go after reading as much as possible on the internet. Buy the XT and take the savings and put it towards a good lens. I got a barnes and noble gift card for christmas so I'm gonna head over there and see if they have any good informative books.
