whats a good beginner/relatively cheap lens that you guys would suggest?
whats boring you about it? What would you like to be able to do?
do you want to replace it, or add to your range?
add to my range mostly. a zoom lens would be awesome but those are $$$$ so i'll need to wait a little before picking one up
The new 35 1.8 should be a great fit on the D50 and any crop lens. They just started shipping out too in the last few days!
or the 70-300 VR
lol thats out of my price range
where can i find purchase links for the 35 1.8? i saw the nikon review about it but no purchase...
im running out of fun places to photograph too
I think this is it.
It happens. I used to own the D50 and its a neat camera to start with. I just bought this lens:
Nikon 50mm f/1.8 D
The 50 f/1.8 will hold you over for a while. was the second lens i got and i still love it. plus it's inexpensive.
if you're just looking for more reach, and aren't looking for low light fast glass consider the 70-300VR as mentioned, the 18-200VR (call Ken Rockwell) or even the 18-135.
They're all variable aperture lenses and should not be considered for anything other than outdoor shooting.
have any sample pics?
took this a while ago
link on where to purchase?
i cant find it anywhere
200 is a damned good price for a fast prime with AF-S
do you guys think the price will raise sometime soon? could i wait a little to buy it or should i bite thebullet and get it now?
low cash flow
It seems like they are going up in price. At least the cheaper alternative to the 50mm f/1.4.
I got the 1.8 for about $140 shipped and everyone was saying something along the lines of it being more expensive than before. A higher demand perhaps?
prices now should be stable, there was an increase Feb 1. Supposedly had to do with the weak dollar against the yen, but apparently even Japan prices went up
the 50/1.8 was part of that price increase, the 35/1.8 is a brand new lens and should remain at that price.
Are a few that come to mind...
