Well, actually, my dad is going to buy one, but I'm getting very interested in photography lately...

What's the best way to learn, can you give me some must have sites/tutorials/books to read?

Which forums do you guys visit?

    tnx :)

    Www.fredmiranda.com is a good forum.
As fod books, I like The Photography Bible by Daniel Lezano. It's a good book for a beginner.

the best way to learn is to shot shot shot! play with all the settings, think intuitively ( i know, that may be a little hard to do) and just keep messing around with things until it all makes sense. Look at other photographer's work and see if you can duplicate the shot or even make it better.

have you noticed fred miranda becoming slighty dumber and dumber as time goes by?

I get a little bored with all the "Will a [insert high end dSLR here] take good wedding pictures?," etc.

You'd think people would eventually that anyone can use most an camera to take a good picture if they have experience.

I mean... some of the best sport shots ever taken were taken with 4x5 Graflex cameras.. like 1 frame a minute.

    Meh. Senseless mini rant.

Yeah.. heck, my 30 year old Canon SLR will take good wedding photos. It's all about the photographer, the camera just makes life easier.
