She's a personal trainer at the school gym, thinks she knows her shit, and is fat. So I go up to her and start talking. First she starts bragging about her biceps and triceps when the only thing on her arm is fat.

Then we talk about the whole "toned" bullshit, and I'm like "15 reps of tricep kickbacks is useless." She responds by saying that if her clients want that, then it's all good. And this way their heartrate will get up which is healthy for the heart. :hsugh: So I laugh and tell her diet is way more important for the heart than exercise, to which she disagrees. :hsugh:

Anyway, she said I came off aggressive, so I apologize and say it's all good, I just love this shit. She agrees, and mumbles about BCAA's as she walks off trying to trip me up, to which I respond by telling her what amino acids they are comprised of.

So I guess I'll apologize again in class next week...but am I right that diet affects heart health way more than exercise?

Don't ever get in an argument with a "trainer," you just can't win and you'll end up wanting to bash your head against the closest wall from the stupidity.

Yeah I got that impression last night. She is so fucking full of herself, she started with the "I've been in this business for five years blah blah blah." Blow me.

Oh yeah, we also talked about protein requirements and she thought the 1g/lb bodyweight was way too much. :hsugh:

Just get your certification.... then when you get into arguments with trainers they can't say "well i know more than you cause i'm certified and you're not"

So say I eat a perfect diet high in vits/mins/omega3's etc but don't exercise much? I'd say this is better than someone who exercises a lot but eats like shit. :dunno:

  11. not quite right. sure, BP and resting pulse numbers might be good, cardiovasc capacity and achieved levels of performance might be good, but eating like shit ups your blood triglyceride levels, for starters, leading to longer term health issues that aren't necessarily immediately evident. it's a synthesis of the two, neither can be ranked as more important.

Um I'd say that both are VERY important to heart health.

Yeah, who knows. I think I'm too concerned with being a nice guy...she is quite the dumbass...and jsut that she thinks she's the shit, yet she's a fat personal trainer who doesn't know shit and brags about her non-existant arm muscles.
