My main concern is my back hair. I got it "sugar waxed" before and it looked great the day I did it, but the next day I got all kinds of fucked up acne on my back, which I've never had before. And the truth is, I'd rather have a hairy back than a pimply back. I'm also considering my arms, or at least just my upper arms, but not my chest.

I'm thinking of just going to one of those parlor places that waxes so I can get it done professionaly. But my main question is, does it still sprout acne when you get a normal wax (not a sugar wax.)?

I'm just curious, I don't know if I really want to do it yet. :hs:

sugaring is less irritating then regular waxing. after you get it done a few times you'll get used to it and you won't get the acne.

if you go w/ nair, i'd suggest the nair in the pink bottle :riaa:
it's got baby oil in it and it doesn't burn like the reg. stuff

actually, i heard they have a nair for men... never tried it, though, so proceed at your own risk

they have nair for men wax strips, they work well but i experienced irritation from them. the nair for men cream works, but i find it kind of harsh on my skin, so i just use the nair with moisturizer in it

i had my chest + a couple of spots on my back waxed, and this was before NYE - i STILL have those damn acne type spots where the wax work was done.

this is the 2nd time it has been done professionally and it happened both times

i wont be doing it again.

I use nair for men in the summer... works well as long as you dont keep it on too long.
I would keep it on for about 7-10 mins... jump in the shower with a new mach 3 blade and a spunge. spunge as much hair as I can off, then mach 3 the remaining hair, which pretty much just falls off. I have been through a couple bottles of the stuff in the past year or two... never had a problem.

Nair will only last like 3 days, waxing is your best bet. Perhaps go somewhere where they use Vanilla Wax or Braziliian Wax (it will cost more) as this is for hyper-sensitive skin and rather than grip the skin around the hair, it grips the hair only and isn't heated to a high temperature like strip wax.

Or if you're brave enough to get normal wax again, the next day, have a HOT shower and don't use any soap on the waxed area as this might irritate your skin more, don't use creams or anything scented either.

You can get something like a natural paw-paw ointment or nappy rash cream to reduce the swelling and irritation. There's also some stuff called Curash powder which is basically just zinc powder and that's meant to work a treat on irritated skin.

    :dunno:

Or you could have that shit lasered and it will never come back. Well not for a few years at least.

I guess I'll try Nair when the time comes. Even if it doesn't last as long, I'd prefer a little burn than having my hair ripped out again and getting chronic bacne. I imagine I'd only have to do it a couple times over the summer.

i tried nair for men once and ended up with an irritation way worse than any shaving or waxing. it looked like i had psoriasis for 2 weeks. in hindsight i probably left the stuff on for too long, but watch out...
