Like the title says, I'm at a hotel and I just payed via credit card over the wireless network to use ( I think it's called airecomme) the internet while im here. Is this typical? All I wanted to do was surf the web a little bit( no internet banking or anything of that sort) but it bothers me I had to pay via a credit card which kind of defeated the whole purpose. Should I be worried?

ask at the front desk if you have to pay or not.

Ive never been to a hotel where i had to pay, its always been free with a paid stay. Look into it.

wow, the troll strikes again! :mamoru:

(btw, of the hotels I've been to (nicer onces, btw) most do charge). It's actually been the "cheaper" hotels that offer it free.

some places charge, some places don't. when i stay in major metropolitan hotels, wireless and sometimes wired is free. some even have free terminals or business centers. never been to one where it wasn't free; marriott, sheraton, holiday inn express, comfort inn, 4 seasons, res inn, club quarters, hyatt, the rest of the inn's...

although I've stayed in some places for ~500 a night and it didn't even have a tv! lulz...

depending on what they charge to wifi, it shouldn't be a big deal. check to see if they have any business centers or some terminals for internet access...

Its true. Days Inn has the shit free, but the fucking Gran Melia will charge you for it.

    Annoying.
