    So I went out for some screwdrivers... (now with pic)

    And came back with a Remington 597 in grey synthetic, NIB for $159.99 at Bass Pro.

    I looked at both the 597 and the 10/22, the stock on the Remington fit me better and the fit and finish was way better than the Ruger, for cheaper.

    I probably wouldn't buy an AR even if I could afford one anyway.

    I'm a college student, and I have a 1k dollar AR, along with a nice Romy G kit AK on a NDS-3 receiver built by a smith :dunno:

    thats why I'm broke though :rofl:

    I held a 10/22 and a 597, and the ergonomics of the Remmy was better for me, so I got it. The aftermarket is just starting to put out some of the same goodies you can get for a 10/22 for the 597, so I went with it.
