Kind of off topic but I figure you guys would appreciate this kinda stuff.
This thing is bright .
One possible advantage of a Luminox in comparison to other watches is its glow-in-the-dark capability. Every Luminox watch uses a self-powered system of illumination powered by very small gas lights (borosilicate glass capsules). These allow the watch to glow continuously for 25 years while having a much brighter illumination system.
The micro gas lights that are installed to every single hour, dial and bezels are called borosilicate glass capsules. Luminox watches need no external light source to “charge” the point on the dial or hands in order to glow as do conventional luminous watches. Nor do they require the push of a button to light the dial as do watches with electroluminescence.
The U.S. military has reckognized for some time the advantages of micro gas light sources and that is one of the reasons it was quickly recognized as Navy SEAL watches. .
my roomate has a luminox...they are pretty slick.
Yeah pretty cool - wish my stupid Seiko Samurai had that...I've seen installs of it pretty
My inner mallninja wants one of these someday:
I've had one of those a few years. I'm happy with it mostly. After I had the battery replaced, it stopped keeping time to the tune of +/- 2hrs in a 24hr period. Threw it in the drawer for about six months and when I took it out, it worked fine.
but I'm wearing it again.
Pictures of it glowing?
I has the velcro band no need for a compass.
Nice, I wear a 1573? dress field Luminox watch when I'm not working. Awesome watch.
