MIL So I was volunteering with some Marines at the Miramar Air Show ...

    and the Sgt that was in charge insisted on using all our ranks ... I like being a Marine and all but when I'm wearing civis, First names or just last names is just fine by me ... :hsugh:

    watcha guys think ??

    Nicka, dude, man, & foo are all acceptable terms in or out of uniform, especially in the Marine Corps.

    he's not comissioned yet as he hasn't finished school but he's already went thru OCS. skinny azn dude probably didnt talk much.

    only old jarheads call me jarhead and i only tolerate it because of how fucking hardcore those jarheads are but i hate being called jarhead because i will fucking kill you.

    And its really fun working at a facility that provides multiservice comm support. Marines get totally pissed when you call a gunnery sergeant "Sarge"

    AF guys call in and say "hey, this is kyle"

    If I'm calling someone of equal rank who I know outside of work, I use my first name.

    Otherwise I give rank/lastname.

    In civilian clothes if I see one of my guys at a non-work event and I know their first name I'll call them by it usually. They call me LT.

    ....before that it was FIghtertown, USA (Naval Air Station Miramar) which is where Top Gun was.

    my LT calls me "big guy"

    I usually call him LT or my californian shines through and I call him "dude"

    i refused to give him a ride home the last day we volunteered cause when i drove him to the show the first day he kept telling me how to drive ...

    If the Marine is a turd then i make him call me by my rank and name,but if hes a good guy they usually call me G.
