But in my manual it says....

"The HDMI terminal is not compatible with picture signals of a personal computer."

    Do I try it anyways?

I can't say for certain but I would be willing to bet the manual says that because the company didn't test their input with all the different computers available. They can put the notice in the manual and if someone attempts it and can't get it to work, their customer support can say it is not supported. If your video card has a DVI or HDMI connector and follows the standards, there should be no technical reason for it to not work.

only thing i would suggest is to make sure the refresh rate is correct, otherwise you can cause damage to the display

    my hdtv takes 60hz
