...and went a little nuts. I ended up with a canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS lens, two -4gb cards and two filters...one for the big lens and the other for the 17-40L glass I bought a few days ago. My 580EX flash arrived today as well. Now all I need is for the 5D I bought yesterday to arrive and I can has pictures!! (and a depleting bank account) :mamoru:

edit to correct old man memory issues.

Naw...the wife is behind my photo efforts. This is a money making venture more than a hobby.

I'm going to get a 50mm 1.4 to cover the spot between the two zooms and to add some speed.

I'm looking forward to being able to shoot some quality photos instead of making excuses with my old Minolta SLR. :x:

I went to Fry's today and tried to get them to pricematch on a 40D. They're retards, so I left. :hs:

I have a D40. I want rid of it cause of the lack of internal motor. DX glass is so expensive.

Edit: Ooops. Anyway. No one get a D40.

You realize he said 40D, right? As in a Canon.

    :hs:

You should never gotten the 17-40 in the first place...

Instead wasting money on 17-40 and 50, you could of gotten the 24-70mm f/2.8 L

    5D
    24-70
    70-200

it would of been perfect. And then you could start saving for 16-35 for wide shots.

Good point. But if I did that I would probably opt for a fixed length ultra wide. I'll play with the 17-40 for a while and if I find that I really need the speed, I'll sell it and get the 24-70 f/2.8.
