A&P So, I tried brasheye's EDU on photographing a car with strobes

    not bad with just 2 flashes, but its not lit well in the front or rear 1/4 panel

    pls excuse the bg, it was just parked at my work and i didn't want to move it

    f/11, 1/200 sec, iso 200 - 3:00 PM

    just testing the strobes out, i'll will do a full location shoot with this method tomorrow with another nsx plus one more strobe:)

    this method produces great results. i agree that you could probably use one more strobe though. good work.

    hm....i too will try this. but i only have a crappy 02 maxima. and right now its half white because of the salt. and half black cause thats the color it is.

    I only have one flash or I'd try it :o plus no wireless flash triggering on the D50 ftl.

    ebay triggers will do it.

    And im sure you could do it with just one strobe - itd just take some layering in photoshop.

    I did it with 1 flash for a year before I got all mine.

    We say Flash in Aussie Land, not strobe :wavey:

    Your nikon should have that kooky CLS/SU4 mode or whatever it's called so you can wirelessly control your single "strobe"

    Anyway, Camera on a tripod, Remote shutter release cable/switch is what you will need.

    Set your timer, trigger the camera and run over to the car holding the flash, the onboard flash "should" set your flash off in your hand :eek3: if everything goes to plan.

    Repeat that step but positioning the flash on different areas on the car.

    Merge in Photoshop later

    Two strobes is sufficient to cover most of the car.

    I think it is. And he has an MDX for a winter DD and something else as a summer DD (iirc) - ballin'
