I think it's because when I was a little kid and got my first bb gun the person that taught me how to shoot was left handed, and now it's just really hard to shoot RH, especially skeet and stuff like that b/c there's a lot of rifle movement involved. Anyways....the main point of this thread...
Should I get a LH long range rifle? Or do you think it will matter since I will just be shooting it at the range and speed of chambering the next round isn't too big of a priority. I just don't wanna catch a hot cartridge in the face.:noes:

shoot what is comfortable for you..

if its a semi-auto, like an AR, a brass deflector, or a STAG left handed AR would be sweet

you can shoot a regular AR no problem left handed with the brass deflector.

    So you're right handed?

I'm a lefty. Shoot my handguns left handed, rifles right. :o

    Makes for quick rifle/sidearm transition.

Shoot what works for you. Which eye is dominant? Which hand is dominant? I'm left-eye dominant, and shoot everything righty now, but I use my left eye for pistols. I keep both eyes open for pistols and rifles. I'll start carrying lefty once I get my lefty holster, but that's because I initially shot better lefty, and continue to when I practice it. So, I'm switching back. Rifles, due to operation ease, will stay righty.

It's not worth it, to me, to buy anything specially made for lefties. Most things can be used by lefties, or adapted to such.

i used to shoot lefty because that's how my grandfather taught me how to shoot bb guns. he was a lefty. feels more natural, even now.

I shoot left pistol and rifle.. write with left, bat right, eat right..

Left handed anything is just a waste of money. I shot M16s for years lefty and never ever caught brass wrong.

You shoot them right handed to? How do you do that? I'm left-eye dominant and right handed. If I want to shoot my pistols and keep both eyes open, then I have to use my left eye. Otherwise I have to close it to sight with my right.

I've just started to use my left... idk if that's bad or anything to get in the habit of doing.

my right eye is dominant. it's just that i learned left-handed so now it feels the most comfortable, especially when shooting skeet or something with the shotty b/c i have to move the gun around a lot. i was thinking that if i got a 700 or FP though that i could probably shoot it right-handed with no problem b/c the gun will be on a bipod and shooting at a stationary target, so i won't have to move it around quickly or anything. :dunno: maybe i should just try to start all over and teach myself to shoot rifles right-handed.

I shoot with either hand. I use my left eye with pistols, both hands. If it's in my right hand, I just shift the pistol in front of my left eye, rather than bringing my head in front of the sights. Lefty, it just lines up normally.

    Rifles, well, that's self explanitory.
