I sent my 8800GTS to XFX for them to fix because they have a lifetime warrenty on their cards. That was about 2 and a half weeks ago, they determined that it was faulty and sent it back. Today i get it and i took it out and proceeded to put it into my case and it wouldnt fit. It fit fine before so i turn it over and looked at it. They sent me a 8800GTX back, no idea if this was on accident or if it was part of the warrenty or something. Anyway can my 550w PSU support this card safely? i think i can make it fit if i move my drive cases around.

No, it wasn't part of the warranty, you just got lucky and got a GTX by mistake. Congrats btw. And yes, a 550W PSU should suffice, depending on what else you're running.

Yeah, the video card should have some space around it. Did you try moving down the the hard drive(s)?

You got lucky. I had to send back a 7900GT and they sent me a 8600GTS back.

Does your PSU have two 6-pin PCI-E Power connectors?
