    the bar wouldnt spin (rusty bar and inside of plate ring ftlose) and it ended up with my hands in a funny position, at my hips, with me squatting, and i fell back with the bar partly on my stomach and then down on my hips/thighs. :rofl:

    it was only 179 so i'm still alive. and i finished my set (after some lithium grease on the bar under the weights)

    I still have a huge bruise on my quad from the last weeks failed attempt at a heavy full hang clean.

    i could have, didnt want to break the patio. i was just going to set it on my quads and then put it forward but i fell back. i almost did it again, after i got up, which is why i ended up putting the silicone on it.

    Hm, I'd look for some used bumper plates somewhere or just lay down some rubber mats for when you're lifting.

    yea i've been looking into the rubber mats. the 45's i use are rubber coated, but not bumper plates. i'm thinking about building a small 4x8 lifting platform, with only plywood and rubber mats. i just have to get around to doing it (and find the rubber) also have to make it look nice so wife doesnt bitch too much about it. (patio is small to begin with, kind of need it to be moveable/hideable for when guests come over)

    it might end up being 2 2x8 sheets, i dont know. we'll see.

    I would just be ghetto and build a semi-platformish thing with dirt/sand around it so that the weights could drop onto that... :mamoru: :o

    you're not skinny enough to fit under the bar with 45s on it? :mamoru:

    i wouldn't do exercises where i risk something like that... not like you're competing or anything :dunno:

    I pinned myself doing squats once when I was a noob. I was being stupid and doing them outside of the rack. I tried for one rep too many with 135 and got stuck at the bottom. I had to roll over backward to "escape."

    Fortunately it was at like 11pm at night and there were only 3 other people at the gym to laugh at me.

    I squat outside the rack...

    If anything I would just dump the weight backwards, but then again EVERY PT in the gym would bitch at me about it.

    i fit under it, whore :fawk: when i sat back, it landed on mid/lower abs and caught so i pushed it forward more to my hips and slid out.
