    Now just gotta head to the sheriffs station to fill out teh application.

    I was surprised with the people in the class this weekend. Most of the people there had never shot or even held an handgun and in three weeks they will be able to carry a gun :eek4:. Most people also assumed that since they could carry a gun legally, that meant they could legally shoot some one no matter what. And they people flammed me as i stood up and told them that it was a last resort. They were completely uniformed on the conceal and carry laws and luckily the instructors backed me up and these people learned a lot over the weekend.

    Also during the shooting test one woman (never shot before) was complaining that the gun she borrowed (38 revolver w/ a crimson trace laser) was shooting bad cause she was supposedly aiming at the center of the target and not hitting the target. Although her laser was all the target b/c she couldn't hold it steady :rofl: the target was only 21 feet away.

    Cincinnati Crew I recommend Woodhill Training for the course $100

    Feel free to ask any questions on the class if you are planning on taking it.

    Same with some of the people in my CCW class. They were in odd stances, crouched down, etc. This dude had a .22lr (borrowed from instructor) and had a hard time keeping shots on paper. I got done shooting 50 rounds in less than 2 minutes including reloading.

    Everyone wanted to be a vigilante when the time comes :rofl:

    Oh and the majority was suburban moms and dads who will most likely never need a gun since they never go into any "rough areas."

    I shot my first 5 and they were like great your done just put 30 on the target. So I loaded two clips and unloaded them as fast as i could lawled at the rest of the people untill one woman yelled at me for poking fun. Then I put her in her place fucking noobs who want to get their conceal and carry to protect themselves from someone bothering them for a dollar on the street

    I had the same problem. Also had a woman who wanted to use her .22 to scare off bears while hiking.

    That's actually pretty scary... Hopefully your instructors were able to set these people straight...

    It's always a much better idea to make fun of people then to help and encourage them by giving them advise and pointers.

    I did help a couple people who were willing to take advice and wanted help..but I'm 21 and some of the older crowd seemed intimidated by a younger guy helping them to me

    Texas CHL Qual is a PITA

    CHL SHOOTING TEST
    3 yards, 20 rounds

    * 1 shot, 2 seconds, 5 times
    * 2 shots, 3 seconds, 5 times
    * 5 shots, 10 seconds, 1 time

    7 yards, 20 rounds

    * 5 shots, 10 seconds, 1 time
    * 2 shots, 4 seconds, 1 time
    * 3 shots, 6 seconds, 1 time
    * 1 shot, 3 seconds, 5 times
    * 5 shots, 15 seconds, 1 time

    15 yards, 10 rounds

    * 2 shots, 6 seconds, 1 time
    * 3 shots, 9 seconds, 1 time
    * 5 shots, 15 seconds, 1 time
    Scoring

    8,9 and 10 rings = 5 points

    7 ring = 4 points

    on target, outside rings = 3 point

    [IMG]

    All strings start from 'low ready'. All shooting may be done with one or two hands. Until 2006, the test was shot using the TXPT target shown in the photos. The 5 point area on the target is approximately 12" across. Starting in 2006 the traditional B27 target will be used for CHL qualification. Both the older TXPT and B-27 targets are of similar size and the scoring zones are roughly the same, with the main difference that the B-27 zones are mid-torso whereas the TXPT 5 point ring was more correctly placed upper-torso where vital organs on a human are actually located. (In our opinion thedecision to go backward to the older, less anatomically correct B-27 target is a bad idea). There is no requirement to qualify with the gun you intend to carry. If you qualify with a semi-auto (SA category) you will be allowed to carry either a revolver or semi-auto of any caliber. If you only qualify with a revolver (non-semiauto/NSA category) you cannot legally carry a semi-auto. You get three attempts to pass. A 70% score (175 points) is a passing score, but in our opinion anyone that cannot pass with a 90% score on the first try should seriously consider additional training to improve shooting ability.

    It's not that difficult.
    I scored 250/250.

    Wow, here you shoot at 6, 10 and 15 feet and you only have to put 12 rounds on the silhouette per distance and perform one safe reload. :rofl:
