When I saw the trailer for this movie, i almost threw my drink at the screen. Bullets curving around objects and hitting targets dead center, cars doing impossible flips and assassins doing superhuman tricks.

I simply LOVE it when I see an AWFUL trailer and just KNOW that the movie is going to be horrible. I don't know if it's the elitist in me, or what.

But what I also love is, when I expect an awful movie and I get the friggin' Matrix.

Just throw your realism out the door and enjoy the movie for what its worth. I can't say that this movie completely beat my expectations, but it was pretty damn good, especially because I thought it was going to be horrid.

Also, I found it funny that the movie was about killing and guns and it was set in CHICAGO.

    [SPOILER AHEAD]

Also, was that a beretta 92fs ole' wesley was using? the one he thought was his dads?

Yea, it's a movie. No point in debating and such.. just better to forget it and be entertained.

Movie is entertaining just for Morgan Freeman's "shoot this motherfucker!" line and then quick little speech at his office, and again at the end.

its impossible, once the bullet leaves the barrel it travels in an arc straight out and down. the only forces working on a bullet after it leaves the barrel are gravity and maybe wind. even a highschool physics class should be able to figure this out.

Wow. You must be a noob if you can't make your bullets do that...

not really valid for a handgun round

  17. Did the teacher weigh in on this? I surely hope the 50% that said it would curve were given failing grades. This is very simple to visualize. Have them try this:

    http://www.phys.unt.edu/~klittler/demo_room/mech_demos/1d55_12.html

The marble (bullet) will always travel in a straight line after leaving the plate (barrel.)

I can't see how it would be possible. You can curve a baseball pitch by imparting spin in the direction you want, but the only spin that can be imparted to a bullet to any practical effect is the twist from rifling.

anyone ever heard of a guy called newton, he had like 3 crazy laws of so called "physics". intense stuff.

  20. Baseballs can be made to curve due to the effect mainly of the stitches interacting with the air as the ball rotates. This forms a low pressure area on one side of the ball, pulling it in that direction.

so if the bullet had texture, it would be able to cause the same effect?

  22. It does, slightly. The effect is so small though that it's not a consideration in 99.9% of shooting situations.

What about a round that wasn't just textured, but had "fins" or a hollow-point that was unevenly concave, it may curve at an apex.
