Coupled with my Sandisk ultra II 1gb SD card. It's pretty amazing a very nice upgrade from my Sony W1.

So with that said give me some pointers...I have a lot of reading to do :hsd:

    1. Read the manual.
    2. Read it again.
    3. Buy a photography book that focuses on DSLRs.
    4. Shoot and learn.

please don't put borders around everything like most of ot does. i'll admit that borders can enhance a picture, but don't do it to everything. plus if you do have borders don't make it so thick as in the pic above. beyond that, keep going. you have to do what you have to do to learn.

i know you are a beginner, but don't use full auto. use P (program) if anything. Just use the lightning bolt in your viewfinder as an indiciation as to whether or not you should use a flash.

best piece of advise I can give you is to just go out and shoot and remember what you are doing. compare that with your photos and put two and two together.

im in the same boat as you.. i didnt know CRAP about camera settings until I recently purchased my Canon 300D. And yes.. read the manual.. and read it again. I've read it about 3-4 times already.. I just lie in bed while watching TV and read it. Also in this forum there's a photographybasics or photography101 sticky at the top that was VERY helpful too. And I went to Border's bookstore a week or so ago and bought a book JUST on my camera called the Digital Rebel and Rebel XT Field Guide.. and it talks about cameras and gives me xamples of pictures and what settings they used and tells me what settings to use for what kind of affect and what kind of scene..etc..etc. but I still didn't really learn until I went to the zoo and messed around with it for a few hours. Check out the book store. I remember seeing a book on just D50 and D70s. If you don't see any at the book store check out amazon.com. hope this helps!

Tomash doesn't follow his own advice.

www.fredmiranda.com is a good resource, also. The site can be slow during heavy traffic hours, though.

It's also a great forum to find new/used gear to purchase.

It's always that slow. You either put up with it or stop going there. I went with the latter. :sadwavey:
