I've already looking into PwnageTool and Jailbreaking. But once I get that done, what are the benefits? Any cool things to do with a jailbroken iPhone?

jailbreak was to use Iphone on another network such as t-mobile. 3G I-phone is not compatible with t-mobile any way, so jailbreaking it would be completely pointless.

    jailbreak = unlock

Lol you could not be more wrong :rofl: Jailbreak and unlocking the phone are 2 completely different things. If you jailbreak you phone you can get free apps, apps you can't download from the apple store (like a video camera), and other cool shit like NES emulators. I was afraid of fucking up my phone at first but once I had done the jailbreak I never regretted it.

by the by, the phone is compatible with T-Mobile's network. the only thing that isn't is the 3G data portion. so, you can use the phone and Edge data. so, if you don't care about 3G data and are ok with the somewhat limited coverage of T-Mobile, you can save money going with T-Mobile. but, i don't think that's what you're looking for anyway.

I'm with fido. Here is my JailBreak set up so far:

    [IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG]

Mine. The bottom left is BeeJive, and not SMS. I've just mixed a bunch of themes together, and I think it is looking pretty rad.

    My next goals:
-Change Fido carrier symbol (I've had no luck so far)
-Add some Silent mode/Missed Call/SMS/Email alerts on the left side of the weather on the lock screen.
-Change the signal bars to something nicer.

How did you get the weather on your lock screen? Also I am interested to know how you shifted all your icons down to get the time, weather, and date. I just jailbroke my phone last week and I've been messing with themes.

I had to do a bunch of things. To shift your icons around, you have to install this cydia app which produces blank apps, apps which give the illusion that nothing is there. (Search "blank" on cydia)

The weather can be activated using winterboard. Put this unzip and place the 'weather (updated).zip' folder: http://www.blessonedesigns.com/iphone/ in Library/Themes once you ssh your phone with your computer. Then simply activate on winterboard.

If you have no clue what I just said, you gotta do some research. I suggest www.modmyi.com or http://macthemes2.net/forum/

    Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I understand how to do it. Not sure if I want it that much though.

edit: decided to go ahead and do it. stripped out some things. deleted the "folders" folder since I didn't want the "rub that shit" slider, customized dialer, and the lockbackground. One thing I don't really like is the fade from my current background to the weather image. Anyway to get rid of this? Other than that looks good. Thanks

just noticed another problem. when i plug the phone in to charge the battery meter appears under the weather image. is there a way to fix this?

I'm having the same problem. I live with it.

Also, it is designed to fade.

Great! I make sure WIFI is off when I don't need it, and 3G, Bluetooth and Edge are always off for me. The phone can last up to 2-3 days with average calling and texting.

For the guys that have jailbroken their phones. Im really considering doing it, but im worried about the fact that it voids your warranty. Either of you had to deal with this yet?

Yes it does void it. IF you need to take back to Apple, connect it to iTunes, click restore, it will restore it back to factory defaults.....warranty BACK. That simple. Now go jailbreak and get in on this action

Why the windows mobile look? Why is it cool if you have a windows platform to make it look like a mac, and vice versa?

Does this make your iPhone sluggish as hell or unresponsive?
