Not having the two filters in a location that gets them coated in road grime ftw. All I had to do was grip them and twist them off

What brand of filters do you use?

They must be mounted to a remote base like mine, I assume...

AMSoil. They are on a AMSoil bypass setup as well, bolted up near my wheel. Lemme find a pic...

Bad pic, but you can see it on the left side of the engine bay.

    Looks good!

I had to mount mine in front of the core support, next to the intercooler, behind the bumper. I wish I could've put it in the engine bay, but there's no room (damn wrong-wheel-drive compacts, lol).

I would use their oil as well, but it's to much for me. Untill I get a job, I'm running Mobil 1

Long-time M-1 user here...but I've switched to Valvoline synthetic. Mobil changed their formula recently, and it didn't test well. I had no real probs with pressure or consumption, but I followed my gut instinct & went with Valvoline.

The last time I bought the Valvoline, it was ~$21 for a 5-quart jug at Wal-Mart. It's pretty much the only thing I buy there. I get AC-Delco oil filters for the GTPs at Autozone (puts Fram and most others to shame), and Wix filters for the Ford at work.

Well, I'm running M-1 since thats what the guys that built the engine recommend. And I figure that when they are one of the top L series engine builders, I should follow what they suggest (specially since I can't afford AMS right now, 100 bucks + shipping for 12qts ftl).

AMSOil costs less than Mobil 1, actually. I buy it off their website, and even with shipping it's less expensive.

I get 12 quarts of amsoil for $80 shipped :dunno: That's around what I used to pay for Mobil 1, I think. Mobil 1 is no longer fully synthetic, which I really don't like. I'd rather get a quality oil if I'm paying the price...

The filter location looks . I just changed my oil and the filter was covered in fucking CV grease because my boot just split....wasn't a very pleasant surprise when I went to remove the damn thing. :hs:
