Bought a pack of 3 big Skippy Creamy Peanut butter last month from Costco, and been reading that the hydrogenated oils in it is pretty bad for you. I've mainly been using it to boost my caloric intake. I'm not cutting, but in between maintaining and bulking. I wouldn't mind the extra weight, but certainly wouldn't want a lot of it to be fat.

That said, I've already consumed half a jar of peanut butter, so I have 2 and a half more to go. I use it in morning shakes with ON whey and on multi-grain bread for snack at work. I probably have 2-3 servings of this stuff a day. The Skippy 3-pack was only like 10 bucks, but I hate wasting food. Should I scrap it and go for natural peanut butter, or will it be okay to go the next 3 months eating the Skippy stuff?

hmmm, never thought of that one, that's a pretty good idea. thanks. i'll probably include some nasty ass stagg vegetarian chili with it. thought it'd be almost as good as the beef one, but it tastes like crap.

Hydrogenated oils are some of the worst things you can put in your body. I don't care what you do with them, but don't eat that shit anymore.

I hope you aren't eating margerine.

Chris has posted numerous time a study that showed that there was only a negligible amount of trans fat in peanut butter. The only thing that keeps me from eating some "normal" PB is the taste that I hate.

I was under the impression that you simply wanted to stay away from the "low fat" PB.

Yeah, they replace the fat with sugar, which makes it taste awful IMO. Some people like it better. It's not worth getting away from natty PB for the fat since it's healthy but it probably is better to eat normal PB than some sugary spread.
