and I also bought new computer parts for the purpose of upgrading in order to use lightroom (core 2 duo 2.4 -> i7 930). . . but I probably need to edit the photos before I put together my new rig (I'm cannibalizing my old rig). FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. This shit is annoying.

Also, lightroom is pretty nice. Helps me get a lot more out of landscape shots (specifically golf course shots) taken in not the best lighting.

Finished building it, and finally did some actual photo editing today... FUUUUUUUUUUU it's so much faster. Processing the raws to .jpgs takes about 1/5th the time it used to. Not such a chore anymore.

Lightroom is the tits. I do 95% of all my editing in LR and the rest in PS.

retouching mostly. Also cloning and removing distracting backgrounds.

Added bonus, my new Sata burner burns lightscribe labels a lot darker (or it's the new media, not sure), and Windows 7 burns a DVD way faster than Vista. Skips over the "adding image to DVD" or whatever menu and goes straight to burning. Took about 1.5 min to burn 1.5 gigs to a DVD instead of 4 or 5. Sexy.

95% of my "edits" happen in LR then on to PS for cloning, some minor dodge/burn in some cases

    LR > most

Sometimes I think i depend on LR too much.
For me, it's easy to over PP since LR can do so many cool things.

i used to spend so much time fucking with settings on outside shots to make everything look vibrant and for the sky to look decent.

now i use a CPL and i spend like 10sec/pic

I've run into the problem of spending too much time on each picture since it's so easy to edit.

"Ohhh man, I bet this would look good with just a little more blue in the water and a little less orange in her skin"... 20 minutes later, "Damnit, the client isn't even going to notice the differences, and I've just spend 20 minutes on this".
