Well, maybe not an update, because it doesn't really go anywhere.

So I think it was Wednesday of last week, I'm online and bored, killing time while I do my laundry. i hop in a chatroom, start chatting with this girl...she was 20, kinda bored, etc. Turns out she lives about a half hour away, is single, not against meeting someone and hanging out.

I call her, she has a really nice voice, looks decent in her pics, so I decide, what the hell, I'll go meet her.

I go meet her, she is super cute. looked better than in her pics due to having a different hair color, awesome eyes, nice body. We end up fooling around, almost having sex, but my nerves get the best of me and it doesn't happen. Still had fun though. I let her know that next time we hang out, we should go on a real date.

Next couple of days we only have a few IMs/calls because I had an odd work schedule, and crazy weather that prevented any travel.

Chatting a few minutes last night, she tells me, "OMG one of my bffs just proposed to me". I give her my standard advice of not getting married early, as it usually never works well.

Then this morning, after saying "hi" and such, she tells me "I'm getting married in 2 weeks". She lives with her parents, isn't even in a relationship, and is getting married in 2 weeks.

My reply? "OK, have fun with that".

And off my buddy list she goes.

I probably would have gone all the way. My nerves would have told me that if she was that easy on the first time I met her she's not going to be great relationship material. You didn't have any prior commitments or connections with her so there wasn't much at stake.

    Just saying.

I doubt that some guy just proposed to her out of the blue and she just up and married him.

Sounds more like she wanted one last fling with someone before getting married in two weeks.

The truth will set you free.

Nothing to be set free from...I only hung out with her one time.

In case it wasn't clear, I had not yet developed any major emotional investment in her. It's more like "It was fun playing with her boobs!"

Anyways, I made this thread because I never post about myself...and I thought it would be a "funny in a WTF? way" story that the Vag would enjoy.

    :rofl::rofl:

The first thought that popped into my mind was that she was trying to make you jealous and feel guilty for hardly talking to her after you guys hung out. Basically looking for attention.

But, yeah, I guess I could see how she could have been cheating on someone?

Married in two weeks? Yeah right!

I've known her less than a week. She was alway like "you should call me, please?" I would either be at work (so talking on the phone for a long time wasn't really an option) or I just didn't feel like talking on the phone (nothing to talk about, it's boring, at least with online chatting I can do other things at the same time...)

I've seriously gotten so loner/independent that I don't really have any desire to talk to women except for when I feel I need them (for company, sex, whatever).

Talking just to talk is boring, especially when there is nothing to talk about. I mean come on, it was shitty weather, no way to go anywhere...the fact that you cleaned your room only gives us something to talk about for a minute.

She invited me Saturday to come hang out at her place, but her parents would have been home (did I mention she lives with her parents?) so we couldn't have really done anything but watch movies or what not...

Bleh. The thought did nothing for me...I could watch movies/play video games at home.

I know, I'm an ass. Flame away.

lol are you invited to the wedding?

On a side note, the fact that she met you off the net, didnt let you hit it, prolly just means this was her way of softy (?) rejecting you.... somehow i doubt she really gets married. check local papers for wedding announcements..... or find a site that can provide you with the public record (of a marriage certificate)

if you really wanted to know

story sounds too crazy for me to believe the girl right now.....

I would say that I am fairly content right now. Aside from the occasional physical cravings, I have quite a few days off where I will just be at home relaxing, and not have any urge to do much anything else.

That may change once spring/summer comes, and the weather is decent enough to warrant going outside.

I admit, I am a very strange creature..and yes, I am very socially awkward.

    Not to mention, hardcore introvert.

I am an extrovert trapped in an introverts mindsets. I'm strange in the opposite way. I LOVE being around people, socializing, etc. But I grew up with overbearing parents and I didn't fight them on anything, so I drew myself into an introverted way of thinking. So, I'm a person who has an extreme desire to socialize but have had to teach myself how to do it. I've come a long way in that regard I think.

Anyways, I asked mainly because I am single now. And I have discovered immese happiness in BEING single, but I am not happy being alone. If that makes sense. I love the freedom of being single, but I also miss the companionship. I don't miss the headaches and accountability.

But I've discovered in the past that I would lie to myself and tell myself I was extremely happy without a girlfriend when the true fact was that I was miserable.

Thought maybe that might be the case here.

It shouldn't be used an excuse though. I was like that and am trying to change. Too much alone time can become suffocating. I'm much happier socializing, but it takes effort to talk to people when you don't really feel like it. IN the end it's worth it
