Showed up at 5:15 this morning. The funny thing about early morning workouts is that the new year's resolution people shake out the fastest. There was about double the normal number of people there today. It will drop off sharply over the next few weeks.

    But goddam it's cold. wtf.

Was walking around by my squat rack before my final sets of squats today and some old lady comes up and tries to strip down the 315 off the rack. I stood and stared for a minute then told her to gtfo. Ok ok I politely said miss, I have 2 sets left. Then because of my lost concentration and my lowered testosterone levels from being polite I failed to hit my target reps.

    Dammit.

all the stuff that there are waits for are: ellipticals, bicycles (not the spinners), 'ab machines', and dumbbells. squat rack and power rack weren't impacted

by the time i finished the spin class people were outside scouring the parking lot for the closest spaces, i had 1 car follow me, and another line up trying to get the spot

Luckily I workout at night, so instead of seeing the usual 13-15 people every night been seeing around 25-30. I can't imagine going around primetime between 5-8pm...

no new years people at my gym, guess thats the benefit of going to a powerlifting gym where the average person intimidates the crap out of the newby dudes or the average girl who just wants a treadmill to run

Or do curls standing next to the DB bench you're about to use, or walk by to re-rack their weights while your pressing DB's. I don't walk in front of or next to anyone doing sets out of courtesy.

So far the lifting area hasn't been affected too much, but I don't go until 9pm.
Just see a ton of treadmill jockies walking off. They will all be gone in a couple weeks.
I felt good next to the huge guy curling 15s. Never seen him in there before, and he was walking around like he owned the place.

I wish my gym had spinning class. :squint: All that they have are the regular bike machine things.

i can't use those electronic stationaries AT ALL. it feels like such a worthless workout. the aerobics room has never had more than 2 people in it except for the classes :x:

plus spin class got me into outdoor road biking :big grin: if it weren't too cold/wet i'd be out there... until then it's spin every other day
