I don't know what the deal was, I didn't really eat that well today, or yesterday. But tonight at the gym at the bottom of my squats it was like I was coiling up a spring that would blast me back up. I weighed 175 or something today. 5'10" 10-12% bf. Squatting a2g.

    Squats:

    135 x 12
    190 x 10
    210 x 6
    230 x 4
    190 x 8
    135 x 10

Normally I would say those squat weights would be pretty heavy for me, but it just felt so easy tonight.

Maybe it was cuz I forgot my gym shoes so I had to squat in sandals today. Haha.

230x4, did you put 2.5lb plates on each side? :mamoru:

edit: nice squat workout though :o

Yeah. Except for the first set, I increase the weight on each set by 5lbs each workout.

    So the previous workout was

    135 x 12
    185 x 10
    205 x 6
    225 x 4
    185 x 8
    135 x 10

But I put the plates on in order. So 190lbs is a 45, a 25, and a 2.5. Then for the next set I put a 10 on each side. Then for the next set I put another 10 on each side. I'm not one of those faggots who has like 215 on the bar, but then takes it all off and puts on a 45 instead so he can squat 225 with two 45s on each side for his next set. I would just add whatever plates it needs to go up to the next weight, because it all weighs the same.

At my last gym I would actually do that all the time, because there weren't a ton of weight plates to go around - so using a billion 10s, 5s, 2.5s, etc when i could just put them all back and throw one big plate on there was sorta dumb/bad etiquette and hogging all the stuff

Grats on the workout though dawg

I guess it's ok if your gym doesn't have many plates.

I do kinda feel like a chode when I have 4 10s on each side of the bar, altho it's usually only for a set or two.

[threadjack]I have my training log in Google Documents too, didn't know Google Calendar existed, I'll start using that too. :big grin: [/threadjack]

I'm squatting 225x6 ... I get 245 on my back, step away from the bars and chicken out ... I'm sure I can do it, it's a mental thing. Same thing happened when I did 185 the first time ...

That makes sense, I guess. I never use the 2.5lb plates though :o

Next time load up 315, unrack it, and just hold it for a few seconds, and then rerack it.

Now you're ready to rock. CNS stimulation or something. It's good for getting past the mental thing that you just described. Load up your working set (225 or whatever) and go for it.

Last night was good, too. All weights were +5lbs except the first set:

    135 x 12
    195 x 10
    215 x 6
    235 x 4
    195 x 8
    135 x 10

After I did 195x8, some random guy told me I had "picture perfect form." I was like "Thanks, man." I was squatting to below parallel, like always.

It made me feel good cuz there was some guy in the other squat rack doing 195, as well, but he was going down to thighs @ 45 degrees.

Anyway, my squat is typically my weakest lift so I still feel like this is a lot of weight for me, and I'm happy. I weighted 175 yesterday.
