Thanks to the advice of a few members here :wavey:

I fucking LOVE this camera. It takes beautifully sharp and vivid photos. Seriously kicks the shit out of my old Olympus SP-310. I would post some samples but I suck at photography and I'm sure I'd get badly criticized :noes:

Actually I'll post some samples in a day or two once I get my own laptop. I'm using a friend's computer and I don't wanna mess with it.

G9 ftw. If I didnt have so much money tied up in other stuff, I'd have one right now.

Depends on what you do. But I say everyone needs a bouncable flash. If you're cheap and cool with manual the Vivitar 285HV is cool for about $90... But it'll look ridiculous on a g9.

a flash with a head you can aim to bouce off of walls, ceilings, etc.

makes the light MUCH softer and nicer to look at

if you want a cheap ETTL flash look at picking up a used 420ex or 430ex

It just means it has a head that pivots from straight forward to straight up, so instead of hitting your subject in the face with the flash, you hit the ceiling and it bounces down on them and the room providing nice soft light instead of harsh light direct flash normally provides.

    edit:
    Beat me to it. :hsd:
